Tiffany Joy Argonza, Founder of The Studio Ligaya & Ligaya Grounds
Tiffany Joy Argonza is the founder of The Studio Ligaya — a cultural event venue and creative community hub in Metuchen, New Jersey built on the Filipino value of Kapwa: the belief that we are all one, we are all each other.
She is a proud first-generation Filipina-American, a mother, and someone who spent a long time making herself smaller in rooms she deserved to be in. She built Ligaya so nobody else would have to wait to be invited in.
For over a decade Tiffany built a career in the corporate world supporting top executives in the pharmaceutical and telecom industries. She was good at it. She excelled. And she felt completely unfulfilled. After becoming a mother she faced postpartum depression — a deeply isolating experience that left her searching for something she couldn't yet name. Support. Understanding. A place to belong.
When she was unexpectedly laid off from her corporate job, she did not see a dead end. She saw a door.
In 2023 she opened The Studio Ligaya — not because she had it all figured out, but because she had run out of reasons to wait. What started as a wellness and event space quickly became something far bigger than she planned. A home. A hub. A room where people from underrepresented communities could celebrate, gather, and finally exhale.
She hosted thousands of families in the event space. She opened the doors to small business owners at community pop-up markets. She watched strangers become family. And at their second Ligaya Fest, a Filipino-American in their forties pulled her aside at the end of the night and said — "this is the first time I have ever felt so Filipino in my life."
That moment changed everything.
Tiffany realized she was not just running a space. She was helping people find their belonging.
Today The Studio Ligaya is home to cultural events, community markets, weekly classes in Filipino folk dancing, martial arts, and more — and serves as the launchpad for two expanding brands. Ligaya Grounds Co. — a Filipino American coffee shop concept coming to Metuchen, NJ — and Lead with Ligaya — a coaching and community offering for women, founders, and leaders who are ready to stop playing small.
Tiffany's journey is not a straight line. It is a story of building while healing, dreaming while doubting, and showing up — imperfectly and on purpose — for a community that shows up right back.
She navigated cultural expectations that told her success had to look a certain way. She proved it doesn't.
Her mission has never been to be extraordinary. Just to do what she has always done — connect people, help them find what they need, and remind them that there is a seat at this table with their name on it.
That is Kapwa. That is Ligaya. That is why this space exists.
Dedication to Mama Del
Whose unwavering love and belief in me sparked the journey to create this space of joy, strength, and belonging. To our dearest Mama Del, You believed in me before I ever believed in myself. Ito ay para sa iyo (This is for you). Thank you.
